Sargeant Families Blog - December 14th-18th

Annual Household Eligibility Form
Tuesday, December 15th is the deadline for the Annual Household Eligibility Form. Thank you to all of those who have filled it out. If you haven't, please take a minute. Thank you!!!
https://www.rcsdk8.org/annual-household-eligibility-form

Note:  When you look at the form, find your household size in the first column and then in each of the categories, the range is $0 to the number next to the checkbox.  For example, if you have 4 people in your household, and you make $46,000, you would check the box in Category 2 next to $48,470 (because your household income is between 0 and that number).

Toy Drive
If you want to drop something off, there is a big bin in front of the school.

Shirts Available
We have limited quantities of shirts available in the office.  We have a handful of Youth Small, Medium and Large.  They are $5 each (exact cash or check as we have no change).  Stop by the office if you want to purchase them.  They will go quick.  After Monday you may want to call to make sure they are still available!

Wellness Tip- Our Thoughts and What Bubbles Up
We’ve been learning about how to strengthen our brains. Your brain can grow, and it can also work like a remote control to your favorite electronic device. Your brain can decide what channel you turn to, how long you tune in, and what you spend time thinking about. Sometimes, thoughts can randomly pop in like bubbles. Some of our thoughts or bubbles we want to keep, and others may distract us so we may want to let go of them and not keep. Below is a helpful tool to help you decide which thoughts are helpful and help you stay focused and on track, and which thoughts may distract you and you may want to pop and let go of. Remember your brain is really strong and so are you! You get to be in charge of holding that remote control and choosing the channel you tune into and when it’s time to switch gears and change the channel.

  1. I think it's absolutely insane that you can have the school open when you can't eat inside. RCSD dash says 72 kids and staff have tested positive since opening. Are you still maintaining that schools don't spread covid19?

    1. Principal Peck doesn't make those decisions, district does. You should direct your concerns there.
