Sargeant Support Center:

Hello Sargeant Parents & Caregivers!

I hope you all had a wonderful and refreshing Thanksgiving holiday. I wanted to share this food assistance for any interested families as this continues to be an amazing program within Roseville. It is available to anyone on Mondays from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Centerpoint Community Church (address on flyer). The Deacon of the church informed us that this program will be closed on December 26th and January 2nd due to the federal holidays. Please reach out to Hillary in the Sargeant Support Center (hblan@rcsdk8.org) or the contact on the flyer with any questions.

Sargeant Safety:

Thank you for your flexibility as we continue our installation of the new fencing.  Students will continue to enter through the front until the area is cleared of caution tape.  The heating issues were resolved quickly.

On Monday, 12/28 we practiced a Shelter and Evacuation (Fire) Drill.  The students and staff did an amazing job quickly making sure that everyone was safely accounted for in the drill.  We will continue practicing our safety drills on a monthly basis.

December IB Attribute: Balanced

Students who are BALANCED are healthy and are aware that eating properly and exercising is important in their lives.  They understand that is important to have a balance between the physical and mental  aspects of their bodies.

How can families help at home?

  • Role model this attribute by:

    • Playing outside

    • Going to the park

    • Making  dinner together

    • Reading a book

    • Playing  a board game

    • Going on a walk

    • Doing chores as a family

Sargeant Last Week:

The 5th Grade classes did an amazing job at the Walk Through the American Revolution.  I want to extend a thank you to all of the work that the teachers and students put in to prepare for this event.  Thank you to the PTC for funding this amazing. We appreciate the parent support with costumes, practicing at home, and being an amazing audience for the day.  Way to go 5th Grade.

Interested 4th and 5th Grade students participated in the Sargeant Spelling Bee last week.  It was so fun to bring the students into the MPR for the Sargeant Spelling Bee contest.  The top three scores from each grade will move forward to the RCSD District Spelling Bee at Sargeant Elementary School on Thursday, 12/15/22 at 11:05AM in the MPR.  There is not a practice list provided.

Below are the winners and some honorable mentions.  All of the 4th graders who won had the same score and all 5th graders who won had the same score.  The honorable mentions were students who were very close to the score of the winners in their grade level.

We had amazing participation!  54 fourth and fifth grade students signed up to participate.

Please celebrate the winners and all of the awesome students who did their best and participated in the Spelling Bee.
