"Press Start" Production Was A Hit!!!
Thank you to our amazing directors, Ms. Ellison and Mrs. Danielson and to all of the volunteers who provided support for this production.  It was great to see a packed house on Thursday and Friday night.

The Book Corner:  This month is Women's History Month and our selections are all about strong females. Here are some recommendations from Mrs. O'Connors and Mrs. Vandivier. This week all books can be found in our school library.

Mrs. O'Connors recommends:  Mary Wears What She Wants: Inspired by Mary Edwards Walker, this book tells the story of a young girl who decides to wear pants when this was not the norm.  The House that Jane Built: A store about Jane Addams who opened up her house as a community center in Chicago.  Anybody's Game: A story about a little girl who was the first girl to play little league.

Mrs. Vandivier recommends:  Anne of Green Gables (graphic novel): The story of an orphan girl who finds a home with elderly siblings. A beloved classic that is being reintroduced to children in graphic novel form.

Sargeant PTC

The PTC is looking for new volunteers! Sargeant Elementary is a great place to learn and we have an amazing community of students, families, and staff. The PTC raises money for and plans:

  • school events like Fall Festival and Skate Night
  • school improvements like the playground shade structures and the incoming water bottle filling stations
  • programs like Art Docent and Walk Through History
  • helps to fund field trips
This spring we have a lot of fun events planned: family dance, book fair, stargazing night, A Touch of Understanding, 5th grade Step Up ceremony, and our yearbook. All of this happens because of work done by members of our community just like you. This fall we will have openings for several board positions and we are looking for committee chairs to help plan events. Many of our volunteer opportunities have low-time commitments and our existing members are happy to teach newcomers how positions work and support you as you learn. Come to our meeting this Wednesday, March 8 at 7pm on campus to find out how you can help support our Bulldogs.

Book Fair

Volunteers are still needed for the crosswalk areas during drop off and pick up.  Please contact Mrs. Barker if you are interested in this volunteer opportunity.
