Sargeant Families Blog - February 2nd

As part of becoming an International Baccalaureate school, all students receive weekly Spanish instruction from Mrs. Neira de Jividen.  Kids are engaged and learning through songs, stories, and games. Ask your child what they are currently learning.

New picnic tables have been added to the playground for students at recess.
They are in areas where there will be shade once it gets hot.  Thank you Student Council!

Girls on the Run - 3rd-5th Grade Girls
Our Girls on the Run After School Club is starting soon!  Please go to www.gotrsac.org to get more information and register your daughter.  Once you are there, go to register now and choose our school. Space is limited so sign up soon.  Practices will be every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30-5:00.  The first practice will be on February 13th.  The girls will meet at the multi purpose room.

Student Council
Student Council's annual Cookie Dough Fundraiser kicked off on January 29 and runs through February 16. Student Council is selling frozen cookie dough, frozen desserts, popcorn and Jelly Bellys to raise money to continue supporting our school and Roseville community. This year we have been able to support Mrs. Kirkendall, the Santa Rosa fire victims, the CHP toy drive, our PBIS program and more. Deliveries will be made on March 16. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Rainey at srainey@rcsdk8.org.

Show your love with a Valentine Gram. Valentine Grams will be on sale Feb. 8Feb. 9 and Feb. 13th during lunch. They will also be on sale in the front office. Cost is $0.25, and the grams will be delivered on Feb. 14 to your child's class.

PTC Newsletter * Note change:  The Father Daughter dance is February 23rd, not the 26th as stated.

Letters of Intent
This week letters of intent went out in Wednesday folders. We are asking that they be turned back in to your child's teacher by February 9th.  This does not register your child for next school year, you still need to go online and register them.

Academic Talent Search (ATS)   and  Registration Form
Forms are available in the office or linked to this blog.  All forms are due no later than February 16th.  If you are signing your child up, please make sure to bring the $15 to the district office on the day your child takes the test.

Rock Garden
Our future location
During the fall students listened to the book Only One You and then painted a rock.  We are going to create a rock garden and need some help.  After school on Friday we will be moving some current rocks to create space for the garden.  If you can help, please fill out this form.  If we can get 10 people, we could get it done pretty quickly. The form will close after we have 10 people signed up as work space is limited.

Helping our Community
The 8th graders at Eich are working on a community service project and we are hoping to help them out.  We have two groups collecting socks and towels.  The socks are for homeless shelters in our area and the towels are for the Homeward Bound Golden Retriever Rescue.  If you can help, please drop off socks or towels to the boxes in front of the office.  Thank you.
