Students who are REFLECTIVE give thoughtful consideration to their own learning and
consider their personal strengths and weaknesses in a constructive manner.
How can families help at home?
Have your child tell you three good things that happened at school.
If your child is involved in a sport or activity, ask them what area they need to improve upon. How do they know? What can be done to improve?
PBIS Connection
This month we are focused on being Kind! We can create a connection between being REFLECTIVE and KIND. This is an important step for students as they learn to think about their actions and reflect on their choices. We can ask our children questions like,
“How do you think that made your friend feel?”
“What were you thinking about at the time?”
“What can you do to make this situation better?”
These all require reflective thinking, which greatly benefit children and their ability to be social and personally aware of their actions and words on others. Help your child practice this skill at home :)
