Happy New Year Bulldogs! We are so excited to see all of you back at school on Monday, 1/8. We are ready to see your smiling faces! We will have a Recess Rodeo on Monday and Tuesday this week. Students in 1st-5th grade will go through stations of recess games to practice the rules and positive sportsmanship during play with the guidance of teachers and support staff. It is our goal for students to have safe and positive recess play each day.
Make sure to join the fun at the PTC skate night on Monday night. What a way to kick off our first two days back to school!

Our learner profile attribute for the month of January is OPEN-MINDED.
An OPEN-MINDED student knows that all people are different. They listen to the points of view of others and consider many possibilities before making a decision. They celebrate the differences that make all people unique.
How can parents help to develop this OPEN-MINDED trait at home?
Encourage your child to try new things - new foods, new games and new activities.
Expose your child to different festivals, celebrations and traditions and be sure to present them in a non-judgmental way.
Encourage your child to really listen to others when they speak.
Introduce literature about many different cultures into your home library.
What did they learn about other countries or cultures that they didn't know before?
When you observe your child being Open-Minded, reinforce this positive behavior and use the PYP student profile terminology.
