IB Information

This year students will be involved in six IB units in their classroom throughout the year.  Each grade level, Kinder-5th, will have taught 6 units tied to trans-disciplinary themes. TK will have 4 units. The themes are:

Sharing the Planet

How the World Works

Who We Are

How We Organize Ourselves

Where We Are in Place and Time

How We Express Ourselves

During the units, students will be engaged in inquiry activities and lessons that are tied to the state standards.  Ask your child what the current theme is they are working on in class.  

Chick Fil A on Wednesday the 26th

Join us at Chick Fil A off of Sierra College on Wednesday, September 26th  from 5:00-8:00 where Sargeant Staff will be helping serve food.  Mention you are there to support Sargeant and a percentage of the proceeds will be donated to our school.  If you prefer the drive-thru, that works too!.  Just don't forget to mention Sargeant.  Please pass this along to friends and family who live in the area and don't feel like cooking dinner on Wednesday. 😀

JCrew Event  - September 30th

Join us for sips and snacks and shopping at JCrew! With the attached flyer you can get 20% off your purchase of $100 or more and a percent of the purchases goes to our school.  The event is this Sunday from 12:00-4:00 in the Fountains.  Feel free to pass this along to anyone you know who likes shopping at JCrew. 

Harvest Festival 

The Harvest Festival is coming and you don't want to miss it.  It will be on October 18th from 4:30-6:30. Check out the flyer linked above for more information about the activities and pre sale tickets.

Este año los estudiantes participarán en seis unidades IB en su salón de clases durante todo el año. Cada nivel de grado, Kinder a 5to, habrá enseñado 6 unidades vinculadas a temas transdisciplinarios. TK tendrá 4 unidades. Los temas son:

Durante las unidades, los estudiantes participarán en actividades de investigación y lecciones que están vinculadas a los estándares estatales. Pregúntele a su hijo cuál es el tema actual en el que están trabajando en clase.



Chick Fil A el miércoles 26
Únase a nosotros en Chick Fil A fuera de Sierra College el miércoles, 26 de septiembre de 5: 00-8: 00 donde el personal de Sargeant estará ayudando a servir comida. Mencione que está allí para apoyar a Sargeant y un porcentaje de lo recaudado se donará a nuestra escuela. Si prefieres el drive-thru, ¡eso también funciona !. Solo no olvides mencionar a Sargeant. Por favor pase esto a amigos y familiares que viven en la zona y no tengan ganas de cocinar el miércoles. 😀
