Thank you for celebrating our amazing teachers and staff during RCSD Employee Appreciation Week! We are very fortunate to have this amazing team teaching and supporting our students.
We are so proud of how hard our 3rd-5th grade students are working on their CAASPP testing. They are on time and ready to go! Keep it up Bulldogs!
We had a site visit from Erin Peterson, Director of Educational Services, on Thursday, 5/4. Students and teachers were randomly asked about the Sargeant BARK expectations. They did an amazing job. Sargeant students know to Be Safe, Act Responsibly, Respect All, and Kindness Matters.

Moving Up Walk - Celebrating Our 5th Graders
On the last day of school, June 6th at 12:25, we will be celebrating our 5th graders who will be moving on to middle school in our second annual Moving Up Walk. This is a brief ceremony where all of our students will gather by grade level in a rectangle out on the primary playground. The 5th graders will walk out to music and walk around the other students as we cheer them on and celebrate them as they say good-bye to elementary school. They will end in the center of all the students and then each grade level will "move up" in line to their next grade level. 5th grade parents are welcome to attend to cheer for your child.
Sargeant Support Center Update:
Sargeant welcomes Lindsey Smith:
Lindsey is the new student intern working in the Sargeant Support Center! She is working on her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy at Capella University and will be working with students in our Sargeant Support Center. Lindsey will be on campus on Thursdays. She will be in Room 6, our Sargeant Support Center, where students may come in and decompress, talk about what's going on in their world, and get any additional support they need. As we near the end of the school year, Lindsey will still be available over break. Please use the the
referral link to communicate needs for additional support for your student.
Community Resources and Activities:
The Book CornerThis week The Book Corner girls are highlighting Spanish books in the library. We have a large selection of books that celebrate Spanish culture and many translated well loved books like The Lorax.
Mrs. Vandivier loves the books that are in both English and Spanish because it helps with understanding all while introducing the reader to fun, new words. Her selection this week is:
Mice and Beans by Pam Munoz Ryan: Rosa Maria, a Spanish-speaking grandmother, spends all week getting ready for her granddaughter's seventh birthday party. Each day items keep disappearing, along with the mousetraps she set to ensure the celebration won't be ruined by uninvited guests (los ratones).
