If you live close to the school, please keep an eye on our campus when you drive by. Over breaks, the campus can be a place where people like to hang out and some times damage occurs at school. We would love to prevent this from happening. If you see anyone on campus that is not supposed to be, for example skateboarding or hanging out on the roof, please call the non-emergency number for the Roseville PD. Thanks!

Sargeant Families Blog - December 14th-18th

We’ve been learning about how to strengthen our brains. Your brain can grow, and it can also work like a remote control to your favorite electronic device. Your brain can decide what channel you turn to, how long you tune in, and what you spend time thinking about. Sometimes, thoughts can randomly pop in like bubbles. Some of our thoughts or bubbles we want to keep, and others may distract us so we may want to let go of them and not keep. Below is a helpful tool to help you decide which thoughts are helpful and help you stay focused and on track, and which thoughts may distract you and you may want to pop and let go of. Remember your brain is really strong and so are you! You get to be in charge of holding that remote control and choosing the channel you tune into and when it’s time to switch gears and change the channel.

Sargeant Families Blog - December 7th-11th
When pulling out of the front parking lot, please approach with caution as parents and kids are crossing the entrance. Some people have been pulling out quickly without looking. We want to make sure everyone stays safe. Thanks!
Back of the School Safety
Or staff in the park after school will be asking kids to point out their parents/guardians before heading out to the cars. This has helped make sure kids aren't just running off into the street. While you are waiting, please make sure to not park in the crosswalks as kids need to cross the streets and use them.
Cold mornings and warm afternoons result in sweatshirts on the playground. Check out the picture below and if you recognize something, remind your child to grab it tomorrow.
Your brain is a muscle and it needs exercise to get strong just like the rest of your body. Mantras are sayings or phrases that anyone can practice saying or singing to help remember important things. Below are some sayings or mantras that you can say or sing to help grow your brain and remember that you’re working hard, trying new things, you’re brave, and you’re being your best self by trying your very best.

Wellness Tip for Week of 11/20 - Even superheroes need help
Asking for help can feel scary, hard, and sometimes even embarrassing. Did you know that asking for help actually makes you brave, strong, and courageous? Here are some tips for ways to ask for help. Look at what ideas Super-Robot has, pick the one you like, and color it in so you have a way to ask for help the next time you feel stuck and have tried your best. Remember that everyone needs help sometimes. When dropping off and picking up at the front of the school, please follow the drop off line. Only one line of cars comes into the parking lot at a time. If you are parking your car on the street and walking your child to the front of the school, please use the crosswalk by the multi or cross in front of the drop off/pick up line by the kinder area. When parents and kids cross in the middle of the parking lot it's very unsafe.

Sargeant Families Blog November 16th-20th
Thank you families for all of your generous donations of sanitizer and disinfectant wipes. We appreciate you!
Please take time to click on the link above and read the different scenarios for when your child has symptoms, been exposed to someone with COVID or tested positive themselves.
Free and Reduced Meals
Free and Reduced Meal Applications are more important than you might think.
The Free and Reduced Meal program typically provides assistance to those who qualify, and even though meals are free for all students for this school year, we are asking you to please take a moment and fill out a Free and Reduced Meal application online at ezmealapp.com. The application is due by December 15, 2020.
The number of students that qualify for the Free and Reduced Meal program impacts many services and programs that RCSD offers families.
Our students and schools are at risk of losing 23% of the supplemental grant funding that supports those programs due to the lack of applications submitted to date.
Originally we thought the sanitizer had to be at least 70% alcohol, but we have now found out it can b 60% or more.
How much alcohol should my hand sanitizer have?
If soap and water are not readily available, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends consumers use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60 percent alcohol (also referred to as ethanol or ethyl alcohol).Jun 1, 2020
